If a breeder doesn't need a monster anymore and wants to clear space for a new one, they can choose to release it to the wild so that they can be free. But released monsters cannot be retrieved.
In some games, monsters are not actually released. Instead, if they are hibernating in a capsule at the Studio , their genetic information is deleted to make room for a new monster.
